My last trip took me to discover Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
Imagine big open space, animals, nature and camp fire. You will tell me camping is not for me but after you will see my photos from a trip I’m quite sure that once you will be tempted to try it yourself.
Yellowstone is the world’s first national park its named after the Yellowstone River that runs through the park. YNP preserves the most extraordinary collection of colorful hot springs, geysers, mud pots, fumaroles and travertine terraces on EARTH!There are more than 10,000 hydrothermal features found and more than 500 are geysers. There is so much to see and do.
My recommendation is:
- try to go there when summer is over and all holidays makers are gone,
- no matter which entrance you gonna take you can see everything
- try camping or staying in the lodge
- stay 3 or more days (depending on your budget)
- take your camera
- take BEAR SPRAY I’m not joking! (Often you need a food containers too)
- take you swimming suit (there are few places where you are allowed to swim 🙂
On my trip I had time to see: West Thumb, Old Faithful, Midway Geyser Basin and Mammoth Hot Springs. There is much more to explore and the park itself is huge. My favourite one was Midway Geyser Basin it colours yellow, red, blue and the steam that you can see over it is magical. I didn’t have time but there is a hike the you can take and see it from above and have a better view, we decided to do the walk close to it and take few picture 🙂
Our drive took us to the next spot Mammoth Hot Springs it’s like terraces cover with sulfur what a view. You will notice the power of the nature burning all the trees and all this years that landscape remains almost untouched. It’s all worth the visit.
You can go hiking, biking, skiing or do guided tours you have many options to choose from and I’m sure you won’t be bored. In addition to that you can see many animals: pronghorn, elk, bisons, eagles, birds, bobcats, grizzly bears, moose, deer and I could go like this for much longer.
On this trip I had a chance to try whitewater rafting on the Snake river (you can find them online) from Jackson Hole – little town in Grand Teton National Park. What an adventure have a look yourself. As I really wanted to see YNP we camp in GTNP for a night.
The morning view towards the mountains is something that will stay with me for a long time. Enjoy browsing my photos you won’t be disappointed. See you soon 🙂
